The Barbican now presents Death Note: The Musical as returning from Tuesday 23 March to Saturday 15 May 2027. The production adapts Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s manga, following Light Yagami after he discovers a notebook that can determine who lives and dies and comes into conflict with the detective L.

The musical’s score is by Tony, Grammy and Emmy nominee Frank Wildhorn, with lyrics by Jack Murphy and a book by Ivan Menchell. The Barbican says the previously listed cast belongs to the 2026 run and that new 2027 casting will be announced separately.
