Sixth Form Japan Day gives UK students a full day to explore Japanese language, culture, university courses and Japan-related careers. No previous knowledge of Japanese is required.
Programme
The published example timetable includes a university language workshop, taster lectures, drop-in cultural activities, a musical performance, an alumni careers talk, a student panel and a university fair. Registration begins from 10:10, with the main programme advertised from 10:30 to 16:30. The organiser says exact timings may change.
Sixth Form students receive priority. Year 10 and Year 11 students may apply, subject to availability. Students can attend with teachers or independently, but school and parent or guardian permission is required.
Booking and travel support
Entry is free and the booking deadline is 3 November 2026. Places are initially limited to 18 per school. A missed booking that is not cancelled by the end of 3 November may result in a £5 fee invoiced to the school.
Limited travel bursaries of up to £60 may be available to students who apply through their school. Contact the Japan Society education team for eligibility and availability.
