Japan House London presents five films by Suzuki Seijun, the Japanese director whose vivid visual style and unconventional storytelling influenced later filmmakers including Quentin Tarantino, Jim Jarmusch and John Woo.
The season begins with Tokyo Drifter on 11 and 22 October 2026, followed by Fighting Elegy on 22 and 25 November, Branded to Kill on 13 and 16 December, Zigeunerweisen on 10 and 27 January, and Kagero-za on 14 and 24 February 2027. The programme spans Suzuki’s 1960s work and his Taishō Trilogy, with Japanese dialogue and English subtitles.

Tickets are £5 per person. The first film, Tokyo Drifter, screens on 11 October from 15:00 to 16:30 and on 22 October from 18:00 to 19:30. It is rated 12, and its tickets are non-refundable.
